Lilly Programs
Today, more than 20 million people in the U.S. are living with diabetes, and the need for comprehensive support and treatment grows every day. Commitment to diabetes care takes many forms—from developing innovative products and devices to our commitment to ongoing research and development and providing educational support. Each one of these areas requires a unique understanding of the disease and the people it affects.
Lilly supports several innovative programs and campaigns for people living with diabetes, their caregivers, and others who are affected by the disease:
- F.A.C.E: Fearless African-Americans Connected and Empowered — a grassroots movement to empower African-Americans to help individuals, families, and neighborhoods overcome key barriers to success in living with diabetes.
- Touchdowns for Diabetes — a partnership with Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler to help children and families deal with the challenges of type 1 diabetes. Every time Jay throws a touchdown, Lilly donates $1,000 to the American Diabetes Association's (ADA) camp scholarship fund, making it possible for more kids to attend camp.
- Lilly Camp Care Package — in addition to donating products, Lilly provides educational resources and programs that help children learn to manage their diabetes while having fun at camps across the country.
- Journey Awards — this program recognizes people who have successfully managed their diabetes with insulin for 25, 50, or 75 years or more and encourages their ongoing success.
