Journey Awards

The Lilly Diabetes Journey Awards program, formerly known as LillyforLife™, recognizes diabetes patients who have successfully managed their disease with the help of insulin for 25, 50, or 75 years or more. Since 1974, Lilly has presented more than 2,000 insulin medals to people affected by diabetes. These individuals serve as an inspiration to all people affected by diabetes, for learning how to manage their disease and adapting to the ever-changing technology of diabetes care throughout their diabetes journey.

Insulin medals

The Journey Awards insulin medals recognize people who have successfully managed their diabetes with insulin for 25, 50, or 75 years or more. Qualifying individuals will receive either an engraved bronze 25-year medal, silver 50-year medal, or gold 75-year medal. Managing diabetes successfully means learning how to administer daily insulin doses, eating healthy foods, checking glucose levels, and exercising regularly. The Journey Awards honorees serve as inspiration to all people affected by diabetes.

Applying for the Lilly Diabetes Journey Awards insulin medal

Insulin medals are presented throughout the year. Interested individuals are required to submit the application and consent form for official consideration. Following approval, individuals will receive an engraved medal by mail.
